Stage 4-5
WAL: that skip counting and repeated addition are the same as multiplying.
WALT: solve division problems by equal sharing in ones, twos and fives.
WALT: use doubling to solve some multiplication problems.
WALT: multiply using ways other than skip counting.
WALT: Divide by counting the number of groups we have made.
Stage 5-6
WALT: find how many ones, tens, hundreds and thousands there are in all of a whole number.
WALT: multiply tens, hundreds, thousands and other tens number.
WALT: work out our times six, seven and eight tables from our times five table.
WALT: solve multiplication problems by taking some off or putting some on (compensation).
Stages 6-7
WALT: Multiply using place value
WALT: Multiply using rounding and compensation.
WALT: Divide using place value or rounding and compensating.
